The last model of the Veyron smashed all the speed records for roadgoing cars, but recently other supersport cars have been producing lightweight models which made the Veyron not so unique anymore. Perhaps that is why Bugatti decided to undress their Veyron a bit. 300kg of weight out of the original by replacing the majority of the bodywork with carbon fibre. The result is phenomenal, as well as packing in more power the reduced weight allows the 8 litre, 16 cylinder engine to produce an eyeball crushing 1,200 brake horsepower, 199 more than the original Veyron model.
James May (yes indeed… Cpt. Slow from TopGear) pushes the Bugatti Veyron to the new limit. A 30 mile long oval testtrack in Germany is the location for this unique 417 km/h ride. (The title fastest man in a production car lasted for 15 minutes… a Bugatti test-driver crushed that Guiness World Record with a stunning 431 km/h after that).
