Juli the second Zaanstad was again Singing in Zaanstad. A vast amount of boats and small boats escorted the convoy with music from Wormerveer to Zaandam following the 12 km long river. Thousands of visitors enjoyed the boat show and the music on the forty participating ships performed by 32 solosingers, choirs fourteen, ten bands and four duos.
On the backgroud you see the a part of the oldest industial zone still in daily use. Internationally, this area is unique because here from the 17th century on, the largest industrial area in developed world, based on wind energy by windmills.
